About Us
Dave and Serranta, based in Margaret River WA. Coming from sheep and beef farming in New Zealand, working dogs were just part of everyday life, and that's probably where the Border Collie obsession started.
Serranta has a strong animal background — showing and breeding Pomeranians for years, competitive show rabbit breeding, and time in veterinary nursing. She has a sharp eye for genetics and animal health which really shapes how Lilkira approaches breeding.
Being professional horse trainers, there's a solid understanding of animal temperament, behaviour and psychology and that flows into everything we do with our dogs.
Border Collies are genuinely versatile, equally capable of working stock all day and being outstanding companion dogs that fit into real life. That's exactly what Lilkira breeds for.

Lily came into our lives as a pup with two jobs: Dave's working dog and Serranta's pet. She nailed both.
Back in New Zealand, working her way up to 1000 sheep and 180 cattle solo and in a team. Moving to Australia, 60 head of cattle to look after — no adjustment period needed.
Her stock sense is outstanding. Quiet, instinctive, and completely at home around horses — giving real confidence to the young horses when riding out.
Off duty, Lily is a familiar face at the Margaret River cafes, wineries and beaches — recognised by locals for her unique colour and exceptional temperament. Going wherever we go, she's the perfect example of exactly what a Border Collie can be.
Now in her later years, she is passing everything that makes her special on to Kiki. Still keeping an eye on things, and very much looking forward to having puppies around again.

Serranta searched a long time for the right dog. Kiki was worth the wait.
Bred from strong Spanish and Australian lines, she's loving, intelligent and genuinely easy to work with. She progressed quickly through obedience training and when introduced to sheep, her natural talent really stood out.
Winning her age breed class at the Perth Royal Show against both dogs and bitches was a career highlight in conformation showing so far.
She loves riding out with the horses through the bush and at the beach, and is a strong swimmer. Around other dogs, both older and younger, she plays gently and respectfully.
That same gentle nature carries through to her maternal instinct. She cares for and looks after kittens, orphan lambs and calves.
Lily has been there since Kiki arrived as a pup, and has taught her how to behave impeccably out in public. Cafes, wineries and beaches, where her champagne lilac tri colour stops people every single time.
Agility and further sheepdog training are both on the horizon. Watch this space!
Current Puppies
First Litter - Coming Soon!
Kiki and Fabio's first litter is due in mid - late March 2026, we couldn't be more excited.
Both parents carry all colours, so expect a colourful and varied litter. Whatever arrives, they'll be beautifully bred, thoroughly socialised and raised with the same love and attention we give to everything at Lilkira.
We are currently taking expressions of interest for this litter.
We'll have a chat with everyone who expresses interest — lifestyle, living situation and experience with the breed all help us find the right match for each puppy and family.

Fabio came to us from Sharon at Ozziedust in Queensland for a working holiday.
A beautiful chocolate and white boy with a genuinely sweet nature. He settled in immediately, got along brilliantly with both the girls and the cats, he made himself very much at home.
What stood out straight away was his temperament. Calm, gentle, loves his cuddles and just an all round nice dog to have around.
Genetically he's exciting. Carrying all colours, which opens up some beautiful possibilities in his puppies.
He's back in Queensland now, but his contribution to Lilkira is just getting started.
